NICHOLAS DUMAS

Recently taken on this cool fella. Thought I might let you know about him:

"Nicholas started his acting career at 16 starring in the feature "Every Saturday". He then got accepted into the Drama School of the National Theatre, the most prestigious drama school in Greece. After he completed his first year he was selected by Theo Angelopoulos, one of most influential and respected directors in the world, to lead in his award winning feature  “Trilogy: The Weeping Meadow”. He is the first Greek actor to be selected by Angelopoulos to lead a film of his, following in a line of actors such as Harvey Keitel and Marcello Mastroianni. For this role, Nicholas was nominated for Best Performance by a leading actor at the Berlin Film Festival.

Nicholas is a member of the National Theatre of Greece and has held leading roles in various acclaimed theatre productions, including a leading role in the “Persians” at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus and Rodolpho in “A View From The Bridge”.

He has become became widely known in his home country for his various television roles. From period drama to sitcoms. His latest work was a leading role in the three season hit “Block of Flats”.

Now firmly based in London he held leading roles in three stage productions, the most recent being the successful adaptation of “Lysistrata” at the Riverside Studios."

Check his reel out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpfc_FMlfW0&feature=youtu.be

He is going to do well!

Oh, I watched the new episode of "Two and a Half Men" last night - Jake chatting to his dad about possible future names of his kids: "Alan, Walden and Jen Jel" "Jen Jel?" "Yes, dad, coz one in every three babies born is Chinese". Genius!! Man, I love that show. Jake then cooked pizza bagels for Walden, so in keeping with what I've decided to do with this blog so did I. Christ they are wrong, all wrong. Like those dreadful microwave Chicago Town mini pizzas. Chewy and tasteless. Binned them immediately and got an American Hot from Pizza Express. Much better

So, having started repping her back in September last year, Elizabeth has played a 19th century prostitute in "The Devil's Violinist", directed by Bernard Rose, an acid house raver junkie (female lead) in "D is for Detroit", then a vampire in NBC's new take on Dracula and now she is playing an angel!! Girl of many guises then!
Here's a little photo from her self tape audition for "The Christmas Candle". Angelic? Hell yeah!

The Idiot

Press photos from "The Idiot"... where Poppy is playing Aglaya.

The Agent's Diary

So..... this blog, as the title suggests, will primarily let the reader know what MandP Artist Management clients are up to. What auditions, what jobs they are fighting for. And, of course, what jobs they are offered and where they are filming or performing… all the idiosyncrasies, excitement and heartbreak of being a London theatrical agent! And for a bit of fun, on evenings that aren’t spent at showcases or theatres (and Alice is asleep!) I will endeavour to watch a film that’s on tele that night … and attempt to cook up one of the meals that is featured in it.

Let’s start with The Godfather II on Film 4 last night. Aaah ... that final camera track in on Al Pacino as he contemplates all that he's done. Murdered his enemies, his friends and his brother. Can there be an actor who portrays such inner turmoil so truthfully as Big Al in that closing shot? Power? Money? Doesn’t translate into happiness. A good lesson there then for all da man dem!

Earlier …. in the flashback sequences, Carmela Corleone dishes out what looks suspiciously like Spaghetti Bolognese to Clemenze, Vito and Sal Tessio as they discuss their options in the face of extortion from Don Fannucci. Simple to start with then … but did you know that the best Bolognese is always made with milk and baked in the oven and not simmered? And the longer the better….

Godfather II and Spaghetti Bolognese? Heaven!

MandP news! As you might or might not know my lovely client, Rebecca Pitkin, decided to give it a go in LA last month. Now, she really is one of the best actresses I know, versatile, intelligent and pretty as a picture. Clever Americans realised this immediately because her first feature film audition and she is offered the lead! Cast by Pam Gilles, directed by Ace Jordan, “Silent Retreat” is a thriller and Rebecca plays the female lead, Meigan! London representing then! Watch this space for more news….
